Whirling Dervishes Impress Audience in Afyonkarahisar

The Konya Metropolitan Municipality Turkish Sufi Music and Sema Ensemble held a meaningful program in Afyonkarahisar.

“Sultan Divani Mevlevi Days” were held in Afyonkarahisar to commemorate the great Sufi master Sultan Divani, a seventh-generation descendant of Mevlana Jalaluddin Rumi.

The Konya Metropolitan Municipality Turkish Sufi Music and Sema Ensemble also performed the Sema Ceremony at the program held at the Prof. Dr. Veysel Eroğlu Sports Hall, which was attended by many admirers of Mevlana.

During the program, distinguished works of Sufi music were performed, while the sema ritual presented by the whirling dervishes received great appreciation from the audience.
