Organized by Karatay Municipality since 2019 to promote sports more widely and support the physical and mental development of children, the 2025 Term of Karatay Summer Sports Schools has come to an end.
A total of 6,300 athletes enrolled in 10 branches, including football, volleyball, basketball, swimming, gymnastics, taekwondo, table tennis, archery, tennis, and chess, received training at 12 facilities under the guidance of expert instructors.
In his speech at the program, Karatay Mayor Hasan Kılca emphasized that Karatay Municipality strives to make the district more successful in education, sports, culture, social activities, and many other fields.
Speaking at the closing program of the sixth Karatay Summer Sports Schools, Konya Governor İbrahim Akın said:
“Starting on June 30, training was provided in 10 different branches to 6,300 of our children and young people. This picture shows how remarkable a service our Karatay Municipality has delivered not only with its infrastructure and urban services but also through social responsibility projects that extend from the individual to society. With this approach and perspective, our Karatay has reached a point where it can be seen as an example in social municipal work. I would like to thank our Karatay Mayor Mr. Hasan Kılca, our trainers, instructors, and all staff who have contributed to sustaining this project for years. I believe the discipline, determination, and spirit of brotherhood that our children and young people have gained through sports at Karatay Summer Sports Schools will serve as a light for the strong future of our country.”
Following the speeches, the Karatay Summer Sports Schools’ closing program concluded with performances prepared by students trained in various branches.
