Athlete from Konya to Compete in the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games

In the Para Weightlifting World Cup held in Egypt, Besra Duman from Konya won the gold medal in the 55kg category and secured the right to participate in the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.

According to the statement from the Turkish Weightlifting Federation, national para weightlifters competed in the event held in the city of Sharm el-Sheikh, with the participation of 245 athletes from 34 countries.

In the women's 55kg category, Besra Duman won the gold medal with a total score of 338 kilograms (110-113-115), while also securing the silver medal with an individual score of 115 kilograms, placing second.

With these results, Besra earned a spot for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. Talat Ünlü, the President of the Turkish Weightlifting Federation, congratulated Besra Duman and her coaches for their success.
