Down Syndrome Futsal Team Trains in Konya

The Down Syndrome National Futsal Team is preparing for the European Championship, which will be held in Italy from June 15 to 21, with a training camp in Konya.

Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay visited the training session of the Down Syndrome National Futsal Team at the Selçuk University 75th Year Sports Hall, where he met with the special athletes.

Mayor Altay stated that Konya is hosting very special guests and added, “The children are already familiar with Konya, as they have held training camps here before. Konya has brought them good fortune, and we believe they will achieve success in Italy as well. One of the biggest contributions here belongs to the Special Athletes Federation, and I would like to thank them for their cooperation. Additionally, we have promised to travel to Italy if they make it to the final on June 21. I hope they will reach the final and achieve great success. There is a strong excitement in their eyes and hearts about raising our flag. I wish them all the best.”
