Football Career of Ahmet Calık

Ahmet Çalık, who was born on February 26, 1994 in Ankara, started football in 2004 at the age of 10 in Gençlerbirliği junior team. Having signed a professional contract with Ankara's well-established club in 2011, after 7 years in Gençlerbirliği junior team, Çalık joined the A team.

First Super League Experience

Ahmet Çalık, who played for the A team for a few times and played for the A2 team in general, wore the A team uniform for the first time in the league with the Fenerbahçe match played on April 21, 2013 in the 2012-2013 season.

Galatasaray Uniform

Çalık left Gençlerbirliği, where he was the captain in the 2015-2016 season, with the offer he received from Galatasaray in the interm transfer period of the 2016-2017 season, and wore the yellow-red uniform for the first time.

Konyaspor for 2 more years

Çalık, who could not reach the performance he wanted in Galatasaray, transferred to Konyaspor on October 4, 2020, spent the last years of his career in this team and achieved important successes. Ahmet Çalık renewed his 2-year contract with Konyaspor on 26 November 2021.

National Team for 8 times

Playing in the lower age groups of the national team many times, Çalık was included in the national team by the coach Fatih Terim on 17 November 2015, and wore the national team uniform for the first time at the age of 21.

Lost his Life in a Car Accident

In the accident that occurred in the Hacılar District of Gölbaşı at around 09:00 on Tuesday, January 11, the car with license plate 06 CLK 94, driven by Ahmet Çalık, went out of control on the Ankara road and overturned in a stockade. Ahmet Çalık, who was alone in the vehicle, lost his life at the age of 27. Çalık was buried in the family cemetery in Ankara Elmadağ on the same day. The news of Çalık's death caused sadness in the world football community as well as in Turkey. Many clubs, especially Barcelona Club and UEFA, published condolence messages.
