Karatay Athletes Bring Home Silver and Bronze from Romania

The Karatay Municipality Sports Club Wrestling Team successfully represented Karatay with their achievements at the Greco-Roman Wrestling Balkan Championship held in Cluj Napoca, Romania.

At the competitions held from October 7 to 12, the national athletes of the Karatay Municipality Sports Club Wrestling Team gave their all and achieved second and third places, earning a spot on the podium.

The national athletes, fiercely competing for medals, outperformed their rivals and left a mark on the championship.

In the championship, which featured 97 athletes from 9 countries, Mustafa Kenan Çelik secured second place in the U-17 age category at 48 kilograms, earning the silver medal. Another athlete, Ali Polat Ayvat, claimed third place at 92 kilograms, taking home the bronze medal.

Karatay Mayor Hasan Kılca highlighted the significance of these achievements in making Karatay a hub for sports and congratulated the athletes who earned medals, their coaches, and the athletes’ families.
