Karatay Belediyespor Secures Türkiye Runner-Up in Wrestling League

Karatay Belediyespor made its mark in Konya’s sports history with an outstanding performance in the 2025–2026 Greco-Roman Wrestling Stars League. The Karatay Belediyespor Boys’ Stars Wrestling Team, competing against strong opponents, finished the league as Türkiye’s runner-up.

The Karatay Belediyespor, drawing attention with its impressive performance in the group matches, first defeated İstanbul Çatalca Belediyespor 9-1 and then overcame Sakarya Hendek Olimpik SK 24-20, finishing at the top of its group.

The Karatay team defeated İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyespor 8-2 in the quarterfinals and then beat Osmaniye Gençlik Spor 7-3 in the semifinals to secure a place in the final. Facing Kayseri Şekerspor in the championship match, Karatay Belediyespor finished the season as Türkiye’s runner-up.

Karatay Mayor Hasan Kılca emphasized that achieving second place in Türkiye is highly significant for both Karatay and Konya, and he congratulated the athletes, coaches, and club officials.
