Karatay Hosts Major Tennis Event

The tennis tournament organized by Karatay Municipality in collaboration with the Konya Provincial Representation of the Turkish Tennis Federation concluded with great enthusiasm and participation.

Held between May 20 and 25, 2025, at Konya’s largest indoor tennis court, the tournament offered a series of sports-filled days.

In the tournament, male and female athletes aged 18 and over competed in four different age categories: 18+, 30+, 40+, and 50+. A total of 149 athletes participated, and around 160 matches were played throughout the event.

The athletes who took part in the tournament expressed their satisfaction with the quality of the event and the facilities at the Karatay Tennis Court. They said, “Attracting people of all ages to sports is a commendable initiative by Karatay Municipality. It was a great pleasure for us to compete in this tournament. We hope such events will continue. We thank everyone who contributed to the organization,” extending their gratitude to Karatay Municipality.

Bilal Yavaş, Konya Provincial Director of Sports Services, stated that the Karatay Tennis Court, built to European standards by Karatay Municipality, has made a significant contribution to Konya.

Ümit Dışpınar, Konya’s Provincial Tennis Representative, also emphasized that the tournament made a significant contribution to the development of tennis in Konya.

At the end of the tournament, trophies and medals were presented to the winning athletes by members of the protocol.
