Konya Athlete Wins Silver in European Javelin Throwing

The athletes representing Konya Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club continue to be the pride of Konya in national and international competitions.

The European Throwing Cup held in the city of Leiria, Portugal, has concluded. Muhammet Hanefi Zengin from the Konya Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club athletics team won the silver medal by finishing second in javelin throwing, successfully representing Konya.

Zengin, competing in the javelin throw in the U23 category in the two-day championship, achieved his season's best with a throw of 76.15 meters (PB) on his second attempt, securing a silver medal for our country. The successful athlete, who clinched the European runner-up title with his throw, accumulated 1,046 points.

Meanwhile, in the U23 European Throwing Cup team competition, the men's national team, including Muhammet from Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club, secured the silver medal by finishing second with 3,863 points, following Germany.
