Konya-Based Cyclist Takes First Place at International Race

The Trofeu Internacional Artur De Lopez Track Cycling Races, included in the 2026 activity program of the Union Cycliste Internationale, were held on 16–17 January 2026 in Anadia, Portugal.

Competing in the U-23 Elimination category, Ramazan Yılmaz of Konya Büyükşehir Belediyespor delivered an outstanding performance, outperforming all his rivals to claim first place.

This gold medal, earned at the first international event of the season, once again highlighted how confidently the young athlete has started the 2026 campaign.

Drawing attention with the results he has achieved throughout his career at national championships and various international events, Ramazan Yılmaz continued his steady rise in Portugal as well.

The victory in Portugal also sent an important message ahead of the European Track Cycling Championships, which will be held in Konya from 1 to 5 February.

As Konya Büyükşehir Belediyespor Cycling Team continues to raise its level of success on both national and international stages with athletes developed through its youth system, Ramazan Yılmaz’s gold medal in Portugal was recorded as one of the club’s most valuable starts to the season.

Another athlete from Konya Büyükşehir Belediyespor, Mustafa Tarakcı, who competed at The Trofeu Internacional Artur De Lopez Track Cycling Races, also earned praise for his performance.
