Konya BBSK Plans New Season After Strong Year

Konya Büyükşehir Belediyespor finished the 2024-2025 basketball season with 18 wins and 16 losses in 34 games, accumulating 52 points and securing a spot in the playoff semifinals. The team also made an impressive run to the final of the Turkey Insurance Men's Federation Cup.

After a successful season in the Turkey Basketball League, Konya Büyükşehir Belediyespor has begun planning for the new season.

Konya Büyükşehir Belediyespor Club President Şükrü Koyuncu stated that following discussions, they have reached an agreement with Nihat Kılınç for the roles of Sporting Director and General Manager, and they have also decided to continue working with Head Coach Volkan Ertetik.

Koyuncu, emphasizing that the team showed an incredible fighting spirit despite it being their first season, said, “During the regular season, especially at home, we experienced great unity with our fans and won crucial games with their support. With a total of 52 points, we succeeded in reaching the playoff semifinals. I congratulate both our athletes and coaching staff for this achievement. I would also like to thank our Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor, Mr. Uğur İbrahim Altay, for his unwavering support. We have already made our plans for the new season without wasting any time. As management, we believe stability in the technical team is very important.”

Head Coach Volkan Ertetik, who is entering his sixth season with the club, expressed his gratitude by saying, “I thank the presidents who have trusted me. This is a wonderful organization that continues to grow exponentially. I’m grateful to the entire team for their trust in us. Hopefully, this year we plan to finish with success and pride once again.”
