The 4th International Konya Half Marathon, eagerly awaited by sports enthusiasts, will once again bring together many local and international participants this year.
Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay noted that this year’s fourth edition of the marathon is a strong contender to become one of Turkey’s major sporting events.
Mayor Altay stated that both professional runners and amateur athletes will compete on the course in this important event where sports and friendship come together. He invited all sports enthusiasts to join in the excitement on May 18.
The 4th International Konya Half Marathon, set to take place amid the city’s historical and cultural landmarks, will be organized in three categories: 21 kilometers, 10 kilometers, and the Fun Run.
The event will kick off on Sunday, May 18, in front of the Metropolitan Municipality Mevlana Cultural Center, with athletes expected to be ready at the venue by 8:00 a.m. The 21-kilometer and 10-kilometer races will start at 9:00 a.m., while the Fun Run, which will begin at Kılıçarslan City Square, will start at 1:30 p.m. The 21-kilometer race will also be broadcast live on TRT Yıldız.
The 4th International Konya Half Marathon will take place on May 18, with a total of 15,000 athletes participating from 37 countries and 65 cities.
The 21K Half Marathon and 10K Run, which will feature 5,000 athletes, will start in front of the Mevlana Cultural Center. The Fun Run, with 10,000 participants, will begin at Kılıçarslan City Square.
