Konya Hosts 3rd International Bocce Tournament

The 3rd International Bocce Tournament is being held under the auspices of Konya Metropolitan Municipality.

Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay highlighted the city’s ability to host national and international sporting events, saying, “We are delighted to welcome athletes from different countries and many provinces across Türkiye to our city for the third edition of the International Bocce Tournament. I hope this event, which perfectly reflects the spirit of friendship, brotherhood, and solidarity through sport, creates lasting memories for all of our athletes. I wish every participant the very best of success.”

Athletes from England, France, Tunisia, and Argentina Also Compete

The tournament, taking place at the Konya Athletics Track Bocce Venue, has brought together athletes from Türkiye and abroad to compete in an atmosphere of friendship and fair play. Competitors from five countries—England, Tunisia, Argentina, France, and Türkiye—along with 44 teams from 17 provinces across Türkiye, are taking part in the event, with nearly 200 athletes competing for top honors.

Bringing together experienced bocce players from both Türkiye and abroad, the tournament aims to promote the development of sports culture, strengthen bonds of friendship and solidarity among athletes, and support the promotion of bocce.

The three-day tournament will feature matches held in accordance with the relevant competition regulations and the official tournament schedule. At the conclusion of the event, awards will be presented to the top-performing athletes during a closing ceremony.
