Konya Secures Crucial Victory in Playoff Semifinal

Konya Büyükşehir Belediyespor, competing in the Turkish Basketball League, is making steady progress on the road to the Super League.

Konya Büyükşehir Belediyespor faced MKE Ankaragücü Ikon Menkul in the second match of the 2024-2025 İlkan Karaman Season Play-Off semi-final series of the Turkish Basketball League at the Selçuklu Municipality Sports Hall.

The yellow-and-blacks, with strong support from their fans, defeated their opponents 90-79, leveling the series at 1-1.

Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay, Karatay Mayor Hasan Kılca, and Tümosan Konyaspor Club President Ömer Korkmaz stood by Konya Büyükşehir Belediyespor during the challenging match.

The second match of the tough matchup was a thrilling contest. The first quarter ended with Konya Büyükşehir Belediyespor leading 27-20. In the second quarter, the teams exchanged baskets, and the visiting team went into halftime with a 48-50 lead. In the third quarter, supported by their fans, the yellow-and-blacks managed to extend their lead to 10 points, taking an advantage of 71-63 before the final period. Konya Büyükşehir Belediyespor continued their strong performance in the last period, winning the game 90-79.

With this result, the series is tied at 1-1, and the team that will advance to the final will be decided in the third match.

The third game will be played on Saturday, May 10, in Ankara. The match at the TOBB ETÜ Sports Hall will start at 8:30 PM.
