Konya’s Young Judoka Becomes Champion

Young judokas trained by the Konya Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club continue to represent the city with distinction in international competitions.

The Mini and Cadet European Cup, included in the activity calendar of the European Judo Union (EJU) and the Turkish Judo Federation, was held at the Kocaeli Şehit Polis Recep Topaloğlu Sports Hall with the participation of 459 athletes from 16 countries.

Representing both Turkey and Konya in judo, Konya Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club achieved a historic success in this major event. Competing in the 50 kg category wearing the club’s yellow and black uniform, Mehmet Talha Oruç outperformed all his opponents and became the European Cup champion.

The young athlete, who was trained through the club’s youth system, earned Konya Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club its first European Cup gold medal in the mini and cadet categories with this remarkable achievement.
