Konyasport, which started to celebrate its 100th anniversary, wants the Super League named as “Süreyya Rıfat Ege”. The green-whites applied TFF for this and the fans started to share posts on social media.

Fatih Özgökçen, the club chairman of Konyasport, expressed that in the 2021-2022 football season they would like the league to be named as Süreyya Ege and they made an application about it. If their application is accepted, it will be a great happiness for them.

Fatih Özgökçen, the club chairman of Konyasport, made an emphasis on the foundation of the club in the 99th anniversary message. In his message on the website of the club he reminded that this club was firstly formed in the 22nd June 1922 by a PE teacher Süreyya Rıfat Ege and his friends and thanks to their great efforts.
Özgökçen expressed that “Throughout its history; Konyasport has gone through hoops but managed to survive. In 1965, our team was in the professional league. In 1981, it combined with Konya İdmanyurdu and has come to present day. He underlined that green and whites hasn’t come to present day easily. He especially emphasized that the managers, footballers and fans from the very first day did everything they could do in order to keep the club alive make its name unforgettable.
