Meram Athlete Breaks World Record in Prague

Muhammed Eren Uysal, a distinguished national athlete representing DOSD Meram Sports Club, has made a remarkable mark in the history of world athletics.

Competing in the ‘European Athletics Championship for Individuals with Down Syndrome’ held in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, from June 29 to July 6, Eren completed the 800-meter race with a time of 2:53.18, breaking both the European and World records.

With these historic achievements, Muhammed Eren has become not only the pride of Meram but also of Turkey, while also demonstrating to the world what individuals with special needs can accomplish through determination, faith, and opportunity.

On the first day of the tournament, Muhammed Eren was crowned European Champion in the 400-meter event with a time of 1:20.00. Following the championship, he was welcomed back to the city with great enthusiasm.
