Meram Athletes Achieve Success at Balkan Wushu Championship

The athletes of Meram Belediyespor Club continue to make a name for themselves with their achievements in both national and international competitions.

Meram athletes, who successfully represent Konya and our country in every tournament they participate in, continue to add new medals to their achievements.

Most recently, the wushu athletes of Meram Belediyespor achieved another significant success at the 8th Open Balkan Wushu Kung Fu Championship and Eurasia Cup, held in Edirne from July 10 to 14, 2025.

The Green-and-Whites participated in the championship, which brought together nearly 1,300 athletes from 17 different countries, with two junior and two youth athletes, earning the right to stand on the top podium twice.

Competing in the stars category, Hayrünnisa Çakar triumphed over her opponents in the 39-kilogram division to claim the championship title. Another club athlete, Defne Temur, secured the title in the juniors’ 60-kilogram category.
