Meram Belediyespor athletes made a strong impression at the Turkish Weightlifting Championship for Physically Disabled Youth and Adults held in Kırıkkale.
At the championship attended by 68 athletes from 12 provinces, Meram Belediyespor’s national athletes Besra Duman and Sibel Çam, who have brought pride to Turkey with their achievements, became champions in their respective categories.
Competing in the 55-kilogram category, Besra Duman claimed the Turkish championship title by lifting 90 kilograms. In the 73-kilogram category, Sibel Çam secured the top spot by lifting 110 kilograms.
Both athletes will represent Turkey wearing the national jersey at the World Championship to be held in Egypt from October 10 to 18, 2025.
They will represent Turkey at the championship. The successful athletes had previously achieved significant results at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. Besra Duman won the silver medal, while Sibel Çam brought pride to Konya by earning the bronze medal with a 120-kilogram lift.
