Muhammed Eren, a national athlete representing DOSD Meram Sports Club, which was established under the leadership of Meram Municipality within the Down Syndrome Life Support Center, became the European champion.
Muhammed Eren won the gold medal in the “Mosaic” category by completing the 400-meter race with a time of 1:20.00.
Muhammed Eren, who became the Konya champion in both the 800-meter and 1500-meter races, also claimed first place in Turkey by running the 200 meters in 34.56 seconds at the School Sports Special Athletes Türkiye Championship held in Karaman.
Muhammed Eren, who continues to add new records to his athletic career, broke the Turkish record of 1 hour 11 minutes by completing the 10-kilometer course in 55 minutes and 33 seconds in the Down syndrome category at the Konya Half Marathon.
Following Muhammed Eren’s historic achievement, Mayor of Meram Mustafa Kavuş congratulated the athlete and his coaches wholeheartedly.
