In Konya, Neris Zeynep Karadağ started kickboxing at a young
age. The young girl was diagnosed with Nutcracker Syndrome. Doctor told her to
quit the sport, she became even more ambitious. Montenegro became the pride of
Turkey by winning the gold medal at the championships in Italy.
19-year-old Neris Zeynep Karadağ, who turned to kickboxing
at a young age, has won two Turkish Kick Boxing Championships.
Montenegro, who attracted attention with her perseverance
and diligence, was admitted to the hospital when she fell ill during her training.
A “CT” scan earlier last year showed that the young athlete,
who was diagnosed with the rare "Nutcracker Syndrome," had a vein
stuck between the heart aorta and the kidney vein damaging her left kidney.
Instead of quitting the sport, Montenegro became more
ambitious and continued training under the supervision of her doctors and
coaches and became the pride of Turkey by winning the gold medal at the World
Junior Kickboxing Championships held in Italy from September 30 to October 8.
After returning to the country, Montenegro regained her health with a successful operation and tried to reach her former strength, and her goal is to win new championships.
