Selçuklu Municipality held the “Stars of Selçuklu Awards Ceremony” to honor the athletes and coaches of the Selçuklu Belediyespor Club who proudly represented our city and country in national and international championships held in 2024.
Speaking at the awards ceremony, Selçuklu Mayor Ahmet Pekyatırmacı said, “Our club’s athletes made us proud by winning a total of 173 medals in the competitions they participated in throughout 2024, including 66 gold, 53 silver, and 54 bronze.”
In line with the Selçuklu Vision and the goal of training athletes for the Olympics, Turkey’s first green-certified (LEED) Athlete Selection and Training Center was established in Konya. Meanwhile, athletes from the Selçuklu Belediyespor Club continue to make Selçuklu proud with their sporting achievements in national and international competitions throughout the year.
In 2024, Selçuklu Belediyespor Club achieved remarkable success by winning a total of 173 medals—66 gold, 53 silver, and 54 bronze—in various competitions. In a year where 78 of our athletes earned awards across 12 different branches (Wushu Kung-Fu, Judo, Taekwondo, Kickboxing, Wrestling, Cycling, Weightlifting, Karate, Table Tennis, Chess, Archery, and Gymnastics), the club secured significant titles, including 1 World Third Place, 2 European Runner-up titles, 2 European Third Places, 1 Balkan Championship, 2 Balkan Third Places, 30 Turkish Championships, 22 Turkish Runner-up titles, and 25 Turkish Third Places.
