The athlete from Selçuklu Belediyespor aims to make a name for himself on the international stage. The successful athlete stated that his goal is the Olympics.
Düzel, the athlete from Konya Selçuklu Belediyespor, who became the champion in this year's Inter-School Turkey Championship held in Tokat, achieved first place in two international and two national competitions in just one year.
Düzel, who became the champion in the 172-centimeter category at the 8th WT President's Cup held in February, earned the right to participate in the European Youth Taekwondo Championship in the same category, which took place in Serbia from October 19th to 22nd. Ibrahim Efe Düzel, who defeated opponents ranked first, fifth, and seventh in the world rankings in his category, won a silver medal in the final after losing to his Italian rival.
Düzel stated, "I am progressing slowly towards my goals. I am still young, and I have many years ahead of me. I want to represent my country at the Olympics. That's every athlete's dream."
Konya Selçuklu Belediyespor's taekwondo coach, Ahmet Akatlı, mentioned that he first met Düzel five years ago at sports schools. He noted that Düzel, with his determination and hard work, progressed from youth groups to competitive groups.
