The Turkey Paragliding Distance Competition has officially launched in Konya, drawing aviation enthusiasts and professional paragliders from across the country.
Set against the stunning landscapes of Karacadağ in the Karapınar district, the event promises thrilling aerial displays and a test of endurance and skill for all participants.
Organized by the Turkish Air Sports Federation, the competition welcomed 120 paragliders on its opening day. Competitors navigated the skies, covering distances of up to 80 kilometers before landing at the designated target points.
Abdullah Kahraman, Vice President of the Turkish Air Sports Federation, highlighted that the event also serves as a qualifying round for both the national championship and the World Cup.
The competition is set to run until September 21.
