Turkey's First Green Certified Sports Facility in Selçuklu

Selçuklu Mayor Ahmet Pekyatırmacı inspected the ongoing construction of the Athlete Selection and Training Center.

Pekyatırmacı stated, "With this center, we are crowning our sports investments and adding value to our city."

This large facility, which is rapidly under construction in Sancak Neighborhood, will be Turkey's first green certified sports center. Mayor Pekyatırmacı inspected the work on-site and learned about the current status from the officials.

Selçuklu Mayor Ahmet Pekyatırmacı emphasized the importance he places on sports, stating, "We have taken significant steps towards our goal of making Selçuklu the center of sports. Now, we are building this center that will connect our youth and children with sports. Once completed, it will be the first of its kind in Konya and one of the most comprehensive sports facilities in Turkey."

He noted that the center will provide services in 18 different sports disciplines and will have the capacity to accommodate between 1,200 and 1,500 athletes simultaneously.

Pekyatırmacı expressed that the Athlete Selection and Training Center is designed with an environmentally friendly structure, adding that the facility will meet 90% of its energy needs through solar panels and will save 350,000 kWh of energy annually.
