At the International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF 2023), the
Konya-based company TÜMOSAN, showcasing 16 domestic and national products, has
drawn attention to its vehicle named "Pusat Hibrit," which features a
silent mode during operations.
The vehicle, which has two versions - hybrid and
conventional, has completed its phase-1 development. It is equipped with a
motor called X5.4, boasting 310 horsepower, and has the capability to ascend
slopes with a 40% lateral inclination and a 70% vertical inclination.
At the 16th edition of the IDEF Fair, held this year,
leading companies in innovation and defense industry investors came together.
The fair, which saw significant participation from the first day, will conclude
on July 28th.
At the fair, TÜMOSAN participated with 16 different
products, including domestic and national marine engines. Volkan Gün, the
Technology and Engineering Group Manager at TÜMOSAN, provided an assessment of
the fair and described the products they exhibited. He stated, "The fair
is held every two years and is significant as it reflects the latest
developments in the country. Despite the pandemic, every company is seriously
engaged in showcasing their work. It particularly demonstrates Turkey's
progress in the defense industry, which is crucial given our geopolitically
important location. We are displaying all our skills, plans, and goals here.
Therefore, I can say that this fair is highly strategic."
Emphasizing on domestic and national production, Gün stated,
"Here, we are showcasing two of our vehicles named Pusat Konvansiyonel and
Pusat Hibrit. TÜMOSAN started this project back in 2017, aiming to produce
these vehicles 100% locally. Both vehicles have a range of 700 kilometers and
the capability to ascend slopes with a 40% lateral inclination and a 70%
vertical inclination. The engine used in these vehicles is entirely domestic.
They have high survivability capabilities. With the advancement of technology,
the mine kit can be changed. Additionally, with anti-drone and drone features,
they can defend against contemporary threats up to a certain level."
Gün mentioned that all mobility tests have been conducted on
the vehicles, and the phase-1 development is now complete. He stated, "The
phase-1 vehicles are generally capable of meeting the requirements of the
domestic market. As TÜMOSAN, we have reached a point in Turkey that can offer solutions
to many issues, especially in the subsystems. This is a matter of great pride
for us. Moving forward, we will continue to push our efforts further in this
direction."
