The Bozkır District Agriculture and Forestry Directorate has
started using artificial intelligence for apple producers who cultivate in
Konya's Bozkır district.
According to a written statement from the Bozkır District
Agriculture Directorate, apple producers will be protected against harmful
pests using technological tools, thus eliminating the need for unnecessary pesticide
use by the producers.
Bozkır District Agriculture and Forestry Director Halil
Durmuş stated in his statement that they are continuing to bring agriculture
together with technology in the district and that artificial intelligence
systems are being used to contribute to apple producers to produce higher
quality and reliable products at lower costs in apple cultivation, which is one
of the district's important production items.
The artificial intelligence system, offered to the service
of the producers, includes an optical high-resolution camera system that can
identify harmful insects in apple orchards from a photograph and a sticky trap
with an adhesive plate.
By using the pheromone attraction specific to insects, the
apple worm pests caught in the sticky trap will be detected, and necessary
warnings will be given to the producers.
After being warned by the agriculture directorate, the
farmers will avoid the unnecessary use of plant protection products and apply
pesticides at the appropriate time and dosage.
