Konya's Agricultural Sector Harnesses the Power of Technology

The agricultural lands in Suğla, owned by Seydişehir Municipality, were sprayed with pesticides using a drone.

Seydişehir Mayor Mehmet Tutal stated in his statement to journalists that a 270-acre wheat field was sprayed with pesticides using a drone to combat mold caused by excessive rainfall.

Mayor Tutal emphasized that the use of drones for pesticide spraying was chosen to ensure that the wheat fields were not damaged, every part of the field was treated more effectively, and the cost was reduced. He mentioned that a professional company was employed to carry out the drone spraying, which offered these advantages.

Mayor Mehmet Tutal, noting that they conducted pesticide spraying in the agricultural area spanning 270,000 square meters in Kesecik Neighborhood and Suğla Plain, stated, "We utilize the harvested crops from our cultivated lands to provide daily hot meals in our municipal kitchen. Additionally, we prepare food for the birds in our Kuğulu Nature Park, both during the winter and summer seasons, contributing to their nourishment."
