In the rural area of Konya where agriculture and animal
husbandry are practiced, the village of Huğlu stands out with its industrial
infrastructure. The locally produced submachine gun, named Mohaç, will be
introduced at the 16th International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF 2023).
Naci Tanık, the Chairman of Huğlu Firearms Cooperative,
said, "It is shorter and lighter compared to its counterparts. The design
belongs to our engineers. May it be beneficial for the Turkish defense
industry. The processes of branding, patenting, and certification have been
completed."
The machine gun named Mohaç, which is produced in Huğlu
Neighborhood, a rural area in Konya known for its agricultural and animal
husbandry activities and prominent industrial infrastructure, will be
introduced at the 16th International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF 2023).
For over half a century, Huğlu Defense Inc., a subsidiary of
Huğlu Firearms Cooperative, has been operating in the neighborhood, continuing
its production for the defense industry with original designs and research and
development efforts.
The company has completed the production of a weapon called
"Mohaç," weighing 1.9 kilograms, with the aim of meeting the needs of
the defense industry. This weapon has the capacity to fire 1000 rounds per
minute.
Huğlu Firearms Cooperative's Chairman of the Board, Naci
Tanık, stated that the tests of the weapon have been successfully completed.
Abdüssamet Güzel, the Chairman of the Board of Huğlu Defense
Inc., mentioned that the submachine gun's research and development process took
more than a year to complete.
The 16th International Defense Industry Fair will be held in
Istanbul at the TÜYAP Fair and Congress Center from July 25 to July 28, hosted
by the Ministry of National Defense and with the contributions of the
Presidency of Defense Industries.
