The French couple who travels the world with their bicycles camped at Meke Lake in Konya.
The French couple, who will be traveling the world for one
year with their bicycles, arrived in Turkey. They camped at Meke Lake in the Karapınar district of Konya, which is referred to as the "evil eye bead of
the world."
29-year-old Lucie Mehats and 30-year-old Lino Meihat, who
stated that they will complete their world tour in one year, expressed their
admiration for the hospitality of the Turkish people. Lino Meihat mentioned
that they reached Turkey after traveling to countries such as Italy, Austria,
Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, and Greece.
Lino Meihat, who emphasized that traveling by plane alone is
not sufficient and that they explore the world with their bicycles as a way to
get to know people, stated, "Through our bike journey, we get to know the
cultures of different countries. We have the freedom to move as we wish. We
cook our own meals. In Turkey, many people shared their meals with us. When we
visit places, we stay in our tent. Even if we encounter dog attacks during our
bike rides, it's not something significant. Everything is going well. Meke Lake
and Acıgöl are fantastic. We swam in Acıgöl, its water is clear and turquoise.
Meke Lake is dried up, which is sad, but the sunset and sunrise are amazing. We
took walks around the lake. Karapınar is an unforgettable beauty for us."
Lino Meihat, stating that they have covered 6,000 kilometers
so far and pedal for 8 hours a day, said, "After Turkey, we want to go to
Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan,
and then to China."
