Historical Castle is Brought to Tourism

Historical Castle is Brought to Tourism

The second phase of the restoration works carried out by the Selçuklu Municipality in the Gevale Castle, which is seen as the "lock of Konya" and maintained its importance for a long time from Rome to the Seljuks, has also been completed.

Gevale Castle, located in the Selçuklu district of Konya, was seen as the "lock of Konya" in history due to its strategic location. The castle, which played an important role in the defense of Konya from Rome to the Seljuks, is brought into tourism by the Selçuklu Municipality. With the cooperation of Selçuklu Municipality, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Konya General Directorate of Museums and Necmettin Erbakan University, the second phase of the ongoing works at an altitude of 1700 meters at Gevale Castle has been completed. With the completion of the works, another symbolic historical place will be added to Konya tourism. When the works are completed, the whole of Konya can be easily watched from the castle.
