Karatay’s Lavender Garden and Mevlana Rose Park Impress Visitors from Across Türkiye

Karatay Lavender Garden and Mevlana Rose Park, developed by Karatay Municipality, continue to welcome thousands of visitors throughout the summer with their breathtaking scenery created by vibrant purple lavender fields and colorful roses. Recognized among Konya’s leading attractions, the two destinations have become favorites for visitors of all ages thanks to their natural beauty, peaceful atmosphere, and seasonal events.


Visitors enjoying time surrounded by nature preserved their memories not only through photographs but also by leaving heartfelt messages in the parks’ Guest Book. Notes written by guests from across Türkiye praised Karatay Municipality’s environmental investments, green space initiatives, and warm hospitality.


Thousands of visitors commemorated their memorable experiences at Karatay Lavender Garden and Mevlana Rose Park by sharing their thoughts in the Guest Book.


Muallim Said from Afyon wrote, “The roads are lined with flowers, our companions are roses… May roses be on our right, our left, before us, and behind us. We came, we saw, we loved, and we leave feeling loved.” Mustafa Asaf Sayaner added, “I hope to see more projects like this. Three of us came here together, and we truly enjoyed it.”


The Tunç family thanked everyone who contributed to creating the gardens and expressed their hope that similar projects would continue. Families from Çorum also thanked Karatay Municipality, saying the Rose Park had added a unique beauty to Konya.


İsmail Bozdağ from Aksaray said he traveled to Konya after seeing the gardens on social media, adding, “It was absolutely worth coming to see.” Recep Kayabaşı praised Karatay Municipality’s exemplary work, highlighting the gardens’ excellent maintenance and organization.


Among the younger visitors, Elif Eslem Aydın wrote, “It’s a beautiful garden full of roses. The lavender garden across from it is wonderful as well.” Ebrar Akkuş added, “The Rose Garden and the Lavender Garden are both beautiful. Thank you for all your hard work.”


Visiting Konya for the first time, the Ulema family shared, “We already loved Konya, but now we love it even more. It feels like a piece of paradise.” The Ural family from Hatay also expressed their appreciation to Karatay Municipality.


Visitors İsmet, Emine, İrem, and Reyhannur from Afyon said they enjoyed taking photographs and participating in the events while in Karatay and wished the municipality continued success. Ufuk Altaş, who traveled from the İspir district of Erzurum, said he was highly impressed by the atmosphere created by the gardens and the activities.


Elif Selvi and the Güncü family from Kocaeli said their journey to visit the Lavender Garden and Mevlana Rose Park exceeded their expectations. Meanwhile, Nur, Ebru, Kezban, and İkram remarked that they truly experienced the meaning of the saying, “Travel the world, but be sure to see Konya,” during their visit to Karatay.


Young visitor Ecrin Su Sarıçiğdem wrote that the events and complimentary refreshments made her very happy. Betül, Gülsüm, and Huriye said the Lavender Garden and Mevlana Rose Park added exceptional value to Konya through their beauty and unique atmosphere.


One of the most meaningful messages in the Guest Book came from Mahmut Kesik, who wrote, “I would like to thank Karatay Municipality for winning our hearts with its roses. I sincerely appreciate this wonderful service that appeals to both the eye and the soul.”


Across hundreds of messages left in the Guest Book, visitors praised the gardens’ natural beauty, peaceful setting, cleanliness, organization, and the activities offered, while many expressed their desire to return to Karatay in the future.


Karatay Mayor Hasan Kılca said he was pleased to see the growing number of visitors to Karatay Lavender Garden and Mevlana Rose Park each year, adding that the heartfelt messages written in the Guest Book hold great significance for the municipality.
