Konya Tropical Butterfly Garden Welcomes 3 million Visitors

The Konya Tropical Butterfly Garden, which has Europe's largest butterfly flight area and is a popular destination for local and foreign tourists, has welcomed over 3 million visitors since it opened in 2015.

The garden, which was opened in July 2015 and built by the Selçuklu Municipality using 1,730 pieces of glass of various sizes, has a usable area of 7,600 square meters and a walking area of 3,500 square meters.

The garden is home to more than 10,000 butterflies of 45 different species. The garden also has a variety of tropical plants, which provide food and shelter for the butterflies.

Tropical Butterfly Garden Head Biologist Turgut Tuş said that they receive visitors from all over Turkey because Konya is a crossroads for those on vacation.

Tuş said, "We have had a lot of visitors from Russia and Ukraine, especially during this period. During the Şebiarus period, Iranian visitors are more dominant. Since we opened in July 2015, Konya Tropical Butterfly Garden has welcomed over 3 million visitors, setting new records. Last July, we surpassed our monthly record of 117,000 visitors."

The garden is located in the Selçuklu district of Konya, Turkey. It is open from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, every day of the week.
