The coastline of Lake Beyşehir in the Konya Plain is as attractive
as the Mediterranean and Aegean coasts. Thousands of visitors come here from
Afyonkarahisar, Isparta, Burdur, and even Eskişehir, along with many other
cities.
Those who come to Karaburun Beach swim in the lake and
sunbathe on the shore.
Beyşehir Mayor Adil Bayındır said, "Thousands of guests
come from nearby cities such as Afyonkarahisar, Isparta, Burdur, and even
Eskişehir, along with many other cities. Central Anatolia cools down here as
if finding a refuge."
In the southern part of Konya, within the district of
Beyşehir, the lake is surrounded by the Taurus Mountains to the south and west,
the volcanic Erenler Mountain to the east, and the Anamas and Sultan Mountains
to the northwest.
Around Beyşehir Lake, which covers an area of approximately
656 square kilometers and is used for fishing, there are three beaches. The
longest one, Karaburun, is as attractive as the beaches of the Mediterranean.
Local people of Beyşehir cool off in the lake and also have the opportunity to
camp amidst oak forests.
