New Tourism Plans for Sille's Historic Caves

New Tourism Plans for Sille's Historic Caves

The caves in Sille will be introduced to tourism through a partnership between Konya Metropolitan Municipality and Selçuklu Municipality.

The Selçuklu Municipality, which continues its efforts to revive Sille's 5,000-year-old historical heritage and transform the area into a key tourism destination, will also focus on promoting the region's caves.

In collaboration with Konya Metropolitan Municipality's KUDEB unit, the Cultural Heritage Preservation Board, and relevant departments of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change, Selçuklu Municipality is actively working to restore Sille after its designation as a renewal area by Presidential decree. As part of this initiative, the municipality will also highlight the region’s mysterious caves as a tourist attraction.

Selçuklu Mayor Ahmet Pekyatırmacı commented, "Following the restoration efforts in Sille, we are committed to rebuilding the historical and cultural assets that have deteriorated or disappeared, ensuring that Sille is restored to its former glory."
