The Tranquility of Karagöl in Konya

Karagöl, located on the slopes of the Anamas Mountains in the Beyşehir district of Konya, Turkey, is a stunning crater lake.

This lake attracts nature enthusiasts, hikers, and campers. Particularly during the summer months, its cool waters and breathtaking scenery draw many visitors.

Karagöl was formed by volcanic activity and lies at an impressive elevation of 2,625 meters (8,612 feet) above sea level.

Although it spans only about 15 decares (37 acres), the lake is renowned for its striking beauty.

The name Karagöl translates to "Black Lake" in Turkish, likely referring to the dark hues of the water that reflect the surrounding cliffs.

Reaching Karagöl involves a demanding hike along a rugged path. The trek is lengthy and can be quite taxing, but the panoramic views at the summit make the effort worthwhile.
