The barley harvest started in the Konya Plain, known as Turkey's granary.
With 47% of Konya's total area of 38,873 square kilometers
being utilized as agricultural land, the spring season's rainfall has played a
significant role in increasing the yield and quality of cereal crops in the
Konya Plain this year.
Branch Manager Burak Kırkgöz, who stated that the spring rainfall
had a positive impact on the plain, said, "Our yields in arid areas in the
Konya region are very good compared to previous years. We have areas where we
obtain yields of approximately 350 to 400 kilograms in arid lands. Hopefully,
it will continue like this."
