Konya Takes the Lead: First Place in Agricultural Production!

Konya Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry, Duran Seçen, provided information about agricultural activities carried out in Konya.



Director Duran Seçen stated, “In Konya, which has the largest agricultural land in Turkey, we are striving to achieve the highest yield by evaluating the work carried out from the past to the present.”



Seçen said, “Konya encompasses various climates. With approximately 1.88 million hectares of agricultural land, it holds a leading position in Turkey. Konya ranks first in 11 different crops, including wheat, barley, sugar beet, and carrot production.”



Seçen stated, “With a livestock population of 928 thousand cattle, Konya has risen to the top spot. It also maintains its leadership position with over 3 million small ruminants. In potato production, Konya utilized 180 thousand hectares. With nearly 2 billion agricultural production inputs, Konya remains in the first place. We are striving to stand by our farmers.”
