Konya Takes the Top Spot in Cherry Production

With the support of Konya Metropolitan Municipality, cherry production is on the rise in Konya, and the year's final harvest is being carried out. Konya, with an annual yield of 30 thousand tons, holds the first place in Turkey, and aims to increase production.

Cherry harvest continues in Konya. Being the top cherry producer in Turkey with an annual yield of 30,000 tons, Konya aims to further increase cherry production. Farmers in Konya are delighted with the high yield as they have created productive cherry orchards in their vineyards and lands by receiving free cherry seedlings through the rural development support provided by Konya Metropolitan Municipality.

The producers who export cherries both for fresh consumption and for making cherry juice and other aromatic products are very satisfied with the high income they obtain.

Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor, Uğur Ibrahim Altay, emphasized that Konya is the top cherry producer in Turkey and stated that their support for cherry production will continue.
