PANKOBIRLIK Chairman Ramazan Erkoyuncu, speaking about the hemp plant sown this season in Konya, stated that they started the infrastructure for hemp this year and will integrate it with the agricultural industry in the next years.
Ramazan Erkoyuncu highlighted the water scarcity issues both in the country and globally, stating that hemp, which can yield efficiently with less water, will be an alternative for farmers.
Chairman Erkoyuncu also announced the start of industrial infrastructure works for the upcoming year.
President Erkoyuncu emphasized that hemp has been introduced to Konya and carries significant potential for the region as an important raw material. He highlighted that the plant offers significant economic and industrial advantages.
Erkoyuncu, expressing optimism about a good harvest season, stated, "Speaking as farmer Ramazan Erkoyuncu, hemp is an alternative crop to maize and other water-consuming plants. We face water scarcity in the Konya plain. Water is life, and we make great efforts to bring water. But hemp was planted because it is resistant to drought."
