Products Produced in Konya Are Exported to 30 Countries

The food company Doğanay has begun harvesting purple carrots, which are the raw material for turnip juice, in Konya Ereğli, the most suitable production site in Turkey.

Purple carrots play a crucial role in the production of turnip juice, going through a quite labor-intensive process from seed selection to bottling. Doğanay maintains quality and taste standards by engaging in contract farming with Ereğli-based farmers, holding a 70% share of the region's purple carrot production for turnip juice. This also serves as an important source of income for local farmers.

The food company Doğanay, which began turnip juice production approximately 60 years ago, took this production to an industrial scale in Turkey for the first time in 1997 with the establishment of its factory. They obtain the key ingredient for turnip juice, purple carrots, through contract farming in Konya Ereğli, which is the most suitable region for its cultivation in Turkey.

During the harvest in the Ereğli district of Konya, in a panel titled "The Journey of Turnip Juice," Gözde Balkan, the Deputy General Manager for Marketing at Doğanay Beverage, highlighted that “Doğanay” introduced turnip juice to the entire country, which was previously only known in Çukurova, thanks to their modern and state-of-the-art factory investment in 1997. She mentioned, "Today, we sell turnip juice to 30 countries, including the entire Turkey, as well as America, Asia, Africa, and Europe. Bringing this taste to different parts of our country and to different countries around the world and seeing that turnip juice finds a place on tables is our greatest success. At the point we have reached, we own nearly 80% of the turnip juice market in our country. Our brand awareness is also very high, around 97%. Therefore, besides elevating Doğanay as a brand, our main focus is to increase the value of turnip juice in the eyes of our consumers."
