Selcuklu Boosts Rural Beekeeping

The Selcuklu Municipality is providing beehive support to promote development and increase livestock production in rural neighborhoods.

Selcuklu Mayor Ahmet Pekyatırmacı, emphasizing their focus on rural development, stated, "We are carrying out significant projects to advance agriculture and livestock farming in the rural areas of our district, under the coordination of our Rural Services Directorate. In this regard, we have provided free support to producers who want to engage in beekeeping and need tools and equipment related to bee production. We also offered a 50% subsidized beehive support to producers looking to contribute to production. In 2024, 73 people benefited from the second edition of our project, and a total of 365 beehives were distributed. Since the distribution programs we initiated in 2023, 102 farmers have benefited, and we have distributed 483 beehives. Throughout the season, our staff from the Rural Services Directorate provided free on-site consultancy services to farmers benefiting from the subsidy. Additionally, we provided beekeeping equipment free of charge to all our farmers."
