E-commerce is growing rapidly with the effects of pandemic. According to the data taken from Ministry of Commerce, e-commerce orders were 3 million 726 thousand in 2019 and it reached 6 million 273 thousand in 2020 with a growth of %68. Among the total posts by courier companies, the share of e-commerce has reached %60.
Monday is the busiest day of shopping-online
E-commerce has reached a market share of 226 billion liras for 2,29 billion orders per year and Monday is the busiest day of shopping-online. When we consider all the orders, Monday has a share of %20, Tuesday and Thursday have a share of %16, and Wednesday and Friday have a share of % 14. Saturday and Sunday are the quietest days of e-commerce with %12 and %9 shares. November is the busiest month of the year in online-shopping with 27,2 billion liras order due to the global campaigns. December is the second busiest month with 26,2 billon liras order due to the shopping for New Year’s. The quietest months are April (13,1 billion liras) and March (13,7 billion liras).
İstanbul is on the first rank
İstanbul is on the first rank in online-shopping. It has a share of %35 and İstanbul is the address for 1 of every 3 orders. Ankara comes the second with %11 and İzmir is the third with %6. Bursa and Antalya have a share of %3, Kocaeli, Adana, Konya, Mersin and Gaziantep have a share of %2 and they are at the top as the busiest Anatolian cities.
