Konya Metropolitan Municipality provided container support
to Beyşehir fishermen in order to develop and spread fisheries. With the
support, the fish caught will be preserved in more modern and hygienic
conditions and can be offered to domestic and international markets without
incurring financial losses.
Konya Metropolitan Municipality has put containers into
service for fishermen in order to support fishing activities in Beyşehir Lake,
Turkey's largest freshwater lake.
Within the scope of the work carried out in order to prevent
350 fishermen who are members of Beyşehir Fisheries Cooperative from
transporting the fish they catch to primitive huts in various regions of the
lake and making purchases under non-sanitary conditions; 6 containers
containing offices, warehouses, sinks and toilets were delivered to the
fishermen, who make their living by fishing for aquaculture, to be used as
fishermen's shelters.
The containers, which provide an environment where fishermen
can work more comfortably without being affected by adverse weather conditions,
are located in Beysehir Lake; It was placed in the ports of Kuşluca, Çiftlik,
Gölkaşı and Yeşildağ pier and Gölyaka. Beyşehir Fisheries Cooperative President
Hasan Kurt stated that they were very pleased with the fishermen's shelters
provided to them and thanked Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim
Altay.
With the work done, the fish caught will be kept in more

markets without being exposed to financial losses.
