In the Çumra district of Konya, visitors can travel 9,000 years back in time through the digital world of Çatalhöyük, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The Çatalhöyük Promotion and Reception Center, opened 14 months ago by the Konya Metropolitan Municipality, contributes to the promotion of the archaeological site where around 8,000 people lived together during the Neolithic period.
Since its opening, the center has attracted intense interest from both local and international visitors. Those who come can explore the city's doorless houses, wall paintings, female and male figurines, bones and claws of predatory animals, multiple graves, and traces of agriculture through interactive and digital displays.
Replicas of significant discoveries that have opened the door to important archaeological and scientific findings at Çatalhöyük, one of the first places of urbanization in the world, are also on display.
