Hocacihan Inn is a Seljuk caravanserai located on the Konya-Beysehir road in Konya, Turkey. The Hocacihan Inn is one of the best-preserved caravanserais in Turkey. It is a popular tourist destination and is open to the public.
It was built in 1206 during the reign of Sultan Kaykhusraw I. The caravanserai is a rectangular structure with a central courtyard and two-story rooms surrounding the courtyard. The rooms were used by merchants and travelers for lodging and storage of goods. The caravanserai also had a mosque, a hammam, and a stable.
Standing out as one of a series of caravanserais on the Konya-Beyşehir route, Hocacihan Inn stands out as one of the most important examples of stonemasonry and woodworking in Konya.
This caravanserai, which has been worn out by time, has lost many things from its original architectural structure, has been renewed several times and reached the present day in a quite different form.
The piers and cut stone arches in the interior of the inn remain from the original structure known to have been built in the 14th century. The building, which was last restored in 2010, is now run by a private corporation.
