The Karatay Municipality has carried out many significant projects through its historical and cultural initiatives. In this context, it is restoring structures that represent the city's centuries-old history with the aim of contributing to tourism and preserving them for the future.
The Karatay Municipality is carrying out significant efforts by restoring the historical buildings in the district, with the goal of both contributing these structures to tourism and preserving them for the future.
As part of this effort, the Karatay Municipality has restored two of Konya's old houses, located on Hacı Hasanbaşı Street in Nakipoğlu Neighborhood, which have a history of approximately 125 years.
Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay and Karatay Municipality Mayor Hasan Kılca visited the site to inspect the restoration work, which was carried out in accordance with the original design, of two historical houses that are among the best examples of civil architecture. They also reviewed the progress of the two projects.
Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay said, "Our city of Konya, which served as the capital of the Anatolian Seljuk State for 200 years, and is enveloped by the spiritual atmosphere of scholars such as Mevlana, Shams of Tabriz, Sadrettin Konevi, and Nasreddin Hodja, hosts historical masterpieces in every street. Preserving and protecting these values, which have been passed down to us, is, above all, a duty of loyalty. We are carrying out transformation and restoration work in our historic city center. We will continue to protect the historical structures in Konya with the Konya Model of Municipal Governance. In doing so, we aim to welcome our visitors in a manner that is in harmony with the historical texture and heritage. We inspected the two historical houses that have been restored here. I thank our Karatay Municipality Mayor Hasan Kılca for restoring and revitalizing two houses that reflect the identity of Konya and Karatay."
