Konya Municipality Restores Historic Old Nurses' Building

Konya Municipality Restores Historic Old Nurses' Building

The historical and cultural efforts of the Selçuklu District Municipality in the center of Konya continue with the restoration works of the Old Nurses' Building, which was registered as a historical building in 2009.

According to the information found in the Konya Conservation Board archives, the building constructed in 1915, registered as a historical building in 2009 with the decision numbered 3263 by the Konya Cultural Heritage Protection Regional Board, is being restored to its former glory.

Selçuklu Municipality places significant emphasis on preserving all historical legacies from the past, as highlighted by Selçuklu Mayor Ahmet Pekyatırmacı. He stated, "We have a crucial sensitivity to safeguard all historical treasures handed down to us from the past. Taking inspiration from our historical ties as a nation, we strive to pass on this inspiration to future generations, and this effort is one of our important missions as an institution. In addition to these efforts, we are restoring the Old Nurses' Building, registered as a historical building in 2009 by the decision of the Konya Cultural Heritage Protection Regional Board, while preserving its historical texture. Once the restoration of this structure, which has come down to us as a historical heritage from 1915 to the present, is complete, it will serve as a Traditional Complementary Medicine Practices Center, Obesity Center, and Smoking Cessation Center."
