Mahkeme Bath Welcomes Guests in Konya

The Mahkeme Bath was originally constructed in the 15th century during the rule of Karamanoğlu Ibrahim Bey II. It underwent significant repairs in 1754 and is located between the Serafeddin Mosque and Shams Tabrizi in Konya. The bath features a double bath layout and is built with cut stone and rubble.

Over time, the original domes were replaced with wooden domes as part of the renovation process. Notable elements of the bath include a pool with a leaf-shaped fountain in the women’s section and a white and purple pool with a diameter of 3 meters in the men’s section.

The hot section of the bath, characterized by a cross plan and covered with a dome supported by three iwans, is intricately connected to both the square-shaped dressing room and the hot section. These renovations and distinctive features enhance the historical significance of the Mahkeme Bath.
