Konya’s Key Transport Line Progresses Rapidly

Construction work on the KONYARAY Suburban Line Project, being carried out in collaboration between the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and Konya Metropolitan Municipality, is progressing rapidly.

Konya Metropolitan Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay emphasized that one of the most fundamental elements in a city's development is a convenient and strong transportation infrastructure, and stated that, in this regard, they have been implementing many valuable projects for Konya one by one.

Mayor Altay noted that they aim to make Konya's rail transportation infrastructure a model to be showcased in Turkey and consider this a national responsibility. He emphasized that, within this scope, the KONYARAY Suburban Line, which they are implementing together with the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, will hold a very important place in the city's public transportation.

Mayor Altay stated, “We are now past the halfway point. Our KONYARAY Suburban Line project, currently at 54% completion, is one of the most important transportation investments in Konya’s history. God willing, we plan to open it for operation in 2027.”
